Foldline Cardholder
Foldline started from the idea that even a simple object on a desk can have presence. A business card holder is usually a quiet, almost invisible product, but I wanted to give it more tension, direction and character. The design is based on folded surfaces. Instead of making the holder feel like a block or container, I wanted it to feel like a flat sheet that has been pushed into shape. The sharp angles give the object a sense of movement, while still keeping it functional and minimal. The process was important because the form only works when the balance is right. Through sketches, paper models and a 3D printed test model, I explored how the object stands, how the cards are held and how the folds influence the final expression.
